Charlotte Pintilie writes dark, emotionally charged fantasy where rebellion, resilience, and myth collide. With a BA (First Class Hons) and MA (Distinction) in Creative Writing, she brings academic precision and storytelling passion to her work.

Her debut novel, Renegade — the first in the five-book epic The Legends of Iron Spine — blends grit, defiance, and hope against impossible odds. Drawing on her background in teaching and a lifelong love of storytelling, Charlotte creates immersive worlds that challenge empire and celebrate the strength of the human spirit.

The Legend of Iron Spine

Across the fractured continent of Orbis, tyranny festers and the elements bleed. One girl vanishes into myth, her true name lost—only a symbol remains: Iron Spine.
Born of tundra and shadow, Chaelle Skysong rises from captive to commander, her legend whispered through frostbitten mines, desert barracks, and rebel camps carved into earth and ash. Alongside Willærd Al’Gaze—an outcast boy haunted by bloodlines and prophecy—they spark a rebellion against the empire of General Vortigen, whose grip chokes three realms.

As the war spreads from the snow-glazed North to the burning sands of Solis, alliances are forged, betrayals bite deep, and the price of freedom grows steeper with every vow broken and life lost.
In a world where names die but legends endure, the rebellion didn’t begin with a person—it began with a story.

And that story is far from over.

Renegade

The continent of Orbis groans beneath the boot of tyranny. Ice cracks, sand burns, and fields rot under the rule of General Vortigen.
From the tundra’s edge, a girl with outlawed power rises. From the haunted ruins of privilege, a boy hunts his shadow.
Together, they may become legend—or be forgotten in the ashes of empire.

Thorns of Sand and Ice

The tyranny grows stronger.

So do the flames of rebellion.

In Solis, Chaelle Skysong and Willærd Al’Gaze fight to unite the scattered resistance. But with Vortigen’s wrath falling like ash on the innocent, their mission must become a movement—or end in blood.

Abandoned by allies. Pursued by tyrants.
Chaelle and Will leave the rebellion to stop the war from devouring the innocent. But in Solis, peace comes with conditions—and revolution with cost. As they build new alliances across Orbis, they face the question no rebel wants to answer: What if you must break your oath to save what matters?

Ash Between Banners

To end the war, Chaelle Skysong must infiltrate the empire she swore to destroy. Sent to sabotage, she finds herself entangled in General Vortigen’s gilded cages—rebellion blurs into obsession, and her enemy offers her not chains, but a crown. Meanwhile, Willærd Al’Gaze hunts the truth of his bloodline as it threatens to sever the bond between them.
Bound by cause, divided by duty—the vow she takes in smoke may consume them both.

The rebellion began with her spark. It will end with her blade in flames. Imprisoned and forgotten, Chaelle Skysong has become a ghost to the world. But Willærd Al’Gaze, now crowned rightful king, knows her spirit isn’t dead—and neither is the cause they began. Across shattered realms, people await a sign. In the bowels of the empire, a jaguar watches. When Iron Spine rises, the world will follow.
